Vedas and story of mine

I completed my higher secondary education (From Class V to Class XII) from Howrah Vivekananda Institution. When I was in my class V, I was introduced with Vedas, Upanishads in our morning prayer. Though I had started learning some shlokas from my grand father in my childhood, but this was completely new experience. The shlok was:-

Which means Oh Devas! May we hear auspicious things with our ears. Oh Devas! May we see auspicious things with our eyes. May we enjoy a full life as given to us by Ishwara, with healthy limbs, glorifying you through the Vedas.

May He protect us both together; may He nourish us both together; May we work conjointly with great energy, May our study be vigorous and effective; May we not mutually dispute (or may we not hate any).

Aum! Let there be peace in me! Let there be peace in my environment! Let there be peace in the forces that act on me!

This shlokas were the foundation on which I am trying to build something. Hating and hurting each other is the alien to the Hindu principle. You may not agree with someone, but you should not hate each other because We all are the child of the divine and “ALL ROADS LEADS TO THEE”. For the last one decade, I am strongly feeling only one thing- Hatred of any form in your heart only ensure your distance from God. When you are walking in the path of love, compassion, mutual respect; you are walking towards God. All other roads will only take you to the path of self destruction. People fighting over religion because they feel their path is the only path, their religion is the only truth. You can take bus, metro, rail, car, ferry to reach your destination, the only thing that matter is reaching your goal, reaching your destination. It is immaterial that which route is best or worst; you just follow your dharma without imposing your thought/faith over other. As Rig Vedas said:-“Let noble thoughts come from everywhere in this world”, we should concentrate only on making ourselves better than yesterday everyday. My readers may not agree with me, but it is my experience which I am sharing. I feel religion is not alien to science, it never was. In fact, we may seek help of science to understand the religion and vice versa. Science and religion- both are seeking the ultimate truth in their own way. Each should not become barrier to the other’s way. To conclude this I want to quote:-

“Om, May All become Happy, May All become free from Illness. May all see what is Auspicious, Let no one Suffer. Om Peace, Peace, Peace.”
