A new version of me

Kaustav Ghosh

One journey ended, but from its ashes a stronger path rose.

They tried to destroy me by casting me into a tormented ocean,
hoping the storm would do what they could not.

But I was not forged in calm waters —
I was carved in storms older than their courage.

I do not drown. I do not break.
I do not sink.

I become the force the ocean itself remembers.

But darkness does not frighten me — it forms me.

I rise from places meant to break me,
carrying a fire that no storm can extinguish.

What they thought would end me…
has become the reason I return unstoppable.

From the depths where they wished for my end,
I rose — not surviving,

but becoming something they can no longer name…
and can never defeat.
