  5. Surprise each other with thoughtful gestures and messages.
  6. Balance independence with staying connected.
  7. Plan visits to see each other whenever possible.
  8. Be patient and understanding with each other’s challenges.
  9. Seek support from friends, family, or counselors.
  10. Utilize technology for daily communication and sharing experiences
